To illustrate how fostering a pup works, we share with you the experiences of one of our volunteers:
Fostering Stepping Stones puppies is a wonderful experience and is really much easier than you might think!
This is my second time as a puppy foster mum and I’ve come to the conclusion that having just these 3 things makes it a lovely stress-free experience!
✔️ A puppy-secure garden or outdoor area – small is fine!
✔️ A small room in your house to set aside as a puppy room – a tiled floor is a big help!
✔️ 2 puppies together as playmates and companions. Puppies sleep…a lot!
Have 2 together and you can leave them alone for up to 4 hours.
I really believe this is an experience all dog-lovers should have at least once, and here’s why:
Giving abandoned and orphaned puppies a foster parent for 1-3 months makes a MASSIVE difference to them for just a little bit of effort and commitment from you.
You learn so much about dog behaviour and development first-hand.
And, of course, they’re just so unbelievably adorable and comical and want as many cuddles as you can give! They really do brighten every day. Go on – give it a go 🥰🙏
